Cycle Class Virgin? What You Should Know!
So, Yesterday I made a reservation for my first EVER Cycle Class at the Lincoln Square location of Flywheel Sports. My 1st Cycle Class EVER! Isn't that crazy? Well, I had the opportunity to experience a cycling class at Flywheel Yesterday! I did as much research as I could so I can be prepared. I looked up reviews and Instagram photos so I can wear the right attire and know what to expect. It's a very nice location, very clean and organized! The staff was incredibly nice. They asked if it was my first time and guided me on what to do. I definitely looked like a deer in headlights and felt like it too. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing but me. I found an open locker, locked my stuff away and put on my shoes. The shoes were so funny to walk in. LOL! People who were waiting for the same class I was in helped me with the locker situation but the directions were everywhere so that was a good thing! They suggest not you leaving your phone in the locker but I didn't because I wanted to take some photos for my blog. But, because I was a little shy and really didn't get a chance once in the class, I wasn't able to. So, when the class begin, I went to the bike number I chose & I saw my name (which I thought was so cute). I definitely needed help adjusting the bike & my shoes. Thankfully there were enough people to assist everyone. Once everyone was settled, the instructor Kara Bocci took her place on her bike in the front of the class, the lights went out and music on! WHOA! How exciting! The music I anticipated but the lights out actually made me more comfortable! No one is paying attention to others, just themselves! Perfect! Now, the class is INTENSE! It's high speed! It's no joke! It's NOT for the weak! I don't know if the class I was in was a certain level but being a first-timer, I felt like I was behind. Prepare to sweat profusely, you're gonna need that complimentary bottle of water & PACE yourself no matter what the class is doing. I tired to keep up with the speeds and levels but I was over-exerting myself so I decided to do the best I can! That's what I got from the taking my 1st cycle class... DO THE BEST YOU CAN & be proud of yourself for it!
